Conte SportsTherapy
Conte SportsTherapy is a sport physical therapy clinic specializing in the treatment and rehabilitation for competitive athletes with injuries due to throwing and pitching. Different than most traditional physical therapy clinics, we focus on not just regaining strength and range of motion, but have the goal for returning the athlete to their previous level of competition. This means functional exercises designed specifically for the throwing athlete including monitored, individualized throwing programs. Because pitching and throwing requires strength and synchronization of the entire kinetic chain, the program includes strength and flexibility of the core, legs, scapula as well as the throwing arm.
The clinic is located in a unique facility at The BayClub, a private health club in Redwood City, California and in association with BaySport Sports Medicine. The allows for access to every type of rehabilitation and exercise equipment available.
Stan Conte, PT, DPT, ATC, has over 30 years of physical therapy experience with over 20 years rehabilitating professional baseball players with the San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers. He has held positions the Director of Medical Services, Head Athletic Trainer, Physical Therapist and Head of Strength and Conditioning for those organizations. In addition, Conte is a Medical Research Consultant for Major League Baseball and is founder of Conte Injury Analytics, a consultant company. He has published multiple articles in medical journals, written chapters in baseball injury text books and has lectured nationally and international on injuries in baseball.
